State Library of Victoria

So, on my recent weekend to Melbourne, I had a short visit to the State Library of Victoria. OK, maybe not a short visit, but a long-ish one, probably almost 2 hours were spent there, looking up in awe at the splendid dome of the main artery of the library, then browsing through the exhibitions. This photo shows the main part of the library, but not the dome. That will be the next photo, of which I could do the splendour no justice with my dinky camera.

All I could think of was what a lovely, quiet and academic place to study next year when I finally start on my Masters in Criminology — after I’ve moved to Melbourne. The perfect place to study seriously, once I stop looking upwards, gawking.
